Late last week, two Henry County Athletes were named the 31st district Athlete and Scholar Athlete of the year. Alex Hadden, a Senior golfer was named the Athlete of the year and Ryan Archer, a Senior Baseball player was named the Scholar Athlete of the year.
Hadden, who plans on attending Eastern Kentucky University to play golf in the fall, was First team all state this year in golf. He was t 5th in the state in golf points. Winner of the Region golf tournament 2 times and State qualifier 3 years. He won the NCKC golf tournament 5 times in his years at Henry County.
Archer, who was a pitcher and corner infielder for the Cats baseball team won the scholar athlete of the year with a composite 29 ACT score, a 4.0 gpa, and top 10 class ranking. Archer was named 1st team academic all state all 4 years while in High School.
Both Hadden and Archer will be up for the 8th region Athlete and Scholar Athlete of the year award. We are extremely proud of both of the young men and their achievements both on the field and in the classroom.
